What is Salford Action for Autism (SAFA)?
We are a group of parents who have joined together & volunteered to provide support for Salford families & carers of children who have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder or an associated disorder. We all have children who are affected by autism.
SAFA currently holds coffee mornings once a month which provide opportunities for parents & carers to meet, share ideas & support each other. The coffee mornings are very friendly & informal. We also have a small creche for children under 11 years old, so that parents / carers can come along with their children. Older children are also welcome to attend but must be supervised by their parents / carers.
Salford Action for Autism also has a library which has 112 different book titles - all relating to autism & aspergers syndrome. So something of interest for everyone.
Charity Yoga Day 2011
On Saturday 24th September, Sadhana Ali (Yoga & Pilates teacher) held a Charity Yoga Day to raise funds for the work we do to support children & parents affected by autism. The event was held at Monton Memorial Hall, Monton Green.
The day was very well attended & an amazing, fun day out.
We also raised £1295!!!!!
THANK-YOU SADHANA!
The money was raised through sponsored Yoga sun salutations, face painting, henna hand painting, a raffle & the sale of delicious cakes & samosa's.
